How can dentures become loose?

Your dentures can become loose for a number of reasons. The most common one is a process known as bone resorption. Over time, the bone that supports your teeth begins to shrink because it no longer needs to hold your teeth in place.

In most cases, you may find that your dentures tend to slip and no longer fit snugly. You may notice a clicking noise when you talk and experience some slight discomfort. Mouth sores or trouble eating can also be signs of loose dentures.

Can a denture adhesive help with loose dentures?

Denture adhesives are a great way to help keep your dentures in place. Super Poligrip has a range of adhesive products designed to provide strong, all-day hold; help prevent gum irritation; and seal out food particles for more overall comfort.

If you notice any of these things happening with your dentures, you should make an appointment to see your dentist. He or she can advise you on using a denture adhesive, or whether your dentures need repairing or replacing.
