My main point of contact during this experience was my Father, who'd had dentures for many years and knew exactly how to maintain them and keep them in good order, so he was my main support through the whole process. He advised me with how to deal with the initial discomfort; obviously, at first there is a little bit of rubbing, and friction on the gums so you need to think about how to deal with that, so he told me about things to use for that, to support that process to get through it. He also taught me how to clean them, so obviously taking them out at night, putting them into a solution overnight to make sure they were kept fresh, and didn't collect any bacteria or anything like that.
